Woo Hoo Jaxton!!! {Breathing on his own!}

So Jaxton was able to breath on his own today for a whole hour! The doctors thought this was a good step, but when we took the tests afterwards Jaxton seemed to not have the full ability to get rid of the Co2 as needed to function with out the ventilator tube down his throat. His PH level dropped from a constant 7.3 down to 7.16 and it needs to be closer to 7.4. They may repeat the test in a few days to try again. I’m not 100% clear on the next step if he can’t be off the ventilator. I heard a trachea tube, but that would not be for quite a while.

We are still waiting to hear back the official test of the Trisomy 18 (Full, mosiac, partial) and the echocardiogram. But the technician said he didn’t think there was a Coarctation like the Doctors had originally thought. This is GREAT news!

So let’s recap shall we: No Coarctation – Thank you God! / Progress on breathing – Thank you God! / No VSD Heart Defect – Thank you God! / The left side of his heart is more than originally thought effecient – Thank you God!

So I found myself asking God “Why would you make so many things right, but just not one part of the breathing?” Then I felt him ask me “I have done all these things, are you going to trust me with THIS?” So verbally I said to him “Yes, I will trust you with this as well.”

Here are some pictures of Jaxton’s admirers:

    Lisa! You are so amazing. I can’t even imagine having a sick child and yet you look great and are smiling and praising God every step of the way. I read your friend Aimees blog. Actually I printed it out so I could read it more thouroughly later. She is also so inspiring, not to mention the awesome hair and tattoo!! Praying for all of you!

  4. He looks so good breathing on his own. Hopefully he just needs to get a little bigger and stronger so his lungs can handle the release of the CO2 before they can take the vent out. God is great and he has shown you so many miracles with your little man. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

    Praise God for all the healing and all the healing still to come….He is moving along quickly with his breathing it took our twins 3 weeks to be able to breath on their own without the assistance of some type of machine….God has a mighty plan for Jaxton and we are already seeing it at work….He might be tiny but he has help spread Gods word to the multitudes! May God bless all of you and provide you with everything that you need during this trying time

    Your story has changed the way I look at God. I lost three of my children and blamed him, why, I asked my self, now I know that he just wanted them to be close to them, this is part of his plan. I am so glad and happy for you that Jaxton is doing so well. He is just one of many of Gods special children, we will pray for you. Thank you for this inspiration.

    Lisa,
    Thanks for sharing that video. I cried once again hearing the song that has such a special meaning for our family also. I can see how much of a fighter Jaxton is, just like his mom and dad. I continue to pray for God’s mercy and strength to enfold all of you as you watch God’s mighty hand of healing at work. Praise and thanksgiving to the Father who has done and is continuing to do so much more than what we can imagine or hope for. Be blessed. Amen
