* * * 1 Week Birthday! * * *

Yay my littlest man!

You have defeated the odds in every sense! I could not be prouder of you. I have been enjoying every breath of your baby smell, holding your tiny little 3lb body, holding your little fingers and kissing your sweet toesies! You have made me so happy I can’t even explain in words with out tearing up. The Lord has truely blessed me with you. I can praise him for answering my prayers!

Jaxton, you have stolen the hearts of people from around the world.

I get multiple emails, comments and messages a day from people all over the world telling me how YOUR LIFE has effected their life and their journey with God! Here are some places other than all over the United States in almost every single state that people are praying for you: Australia, Afghanistan, Holland, Egypt, Israel, Canada, and South America. And to God I give all the glory!

We have been praying for your NICU staff since we knew there was a chance you might be here and WOW have we been blessed! The staff here has fallen in love with you and have specifically requested to be your nurses. They even pick up shifts during the week to take care of you. We are especially in love with Shari and Wendy who fight over who gets to take care of you!  🙂 – Talk about an answer to prayer. How could I ask for more than people wanting to love you and treating you like their own! THANK YOU GOD for being so generous with Jaxton and us in this area! We have truelly grown to love them and would consider them friends if not FAMILY!

They just changed your covering for the Omphalocele and the central line covering. Everything is looking great! I can not imagine missing these moments that we have gotten with you. You have changed our lives forever!!! Thank you for showing me a side of love I never knew about. I have learned so much about myself through loving and caring for you. I don’t feel like eating, sleeping or leaving you for even a moment. I just miss you when we are apart. Last night I slept with a blanket that had your scent on it. It was so comforting to smell you and makes me look forward to a time when we can snuggle in bed together. Looking forward to a time with out tubes, monitors, leaning over a plastic bed, beeping machines and Nurses (just Kidding Shari and Wendy… we LOVE you!).

* We have some praise reports!

{You have been off the prostaglandin for over 24 hours with no sign of bad news! This is a huge answer to prayer because then all we need to do is get you to breathe on your own then we can take you home!!!! I have gotten to see you inside and out and I can say I love every little part of you.}

{We have been able to decrease your oxygen level to 45% and you are doing GREAT! The goal is 21%)

{feeding is up to 14ml. per feeding. The goal will be 45ml per feeding}

{He is reponding to sound and touch and opening his eyes a lot more. They are open in the last picture with Aimee.}

{breathing over the vent. Up to 27 breaths over at one time}

We need TONS of prayer for tomorrow- It’s a BIG DAY!!!

{He has a lung test tomorrow called a Co2 test. It is going to determine wether He will be able to breath on his own off the ventilator!}

{We will get another Echocardiogram to find out 100% if he doesn’t need the heart medicine anymore and praying there is no Coartation!}

This is my dear friend Aimee who has been keeping the blog updated while I have not been able to. Talk about perfect timing and God providing… I met Aimee just weeks ago and now we are the closest of friends. My best friend has 2 kids and wasn’t able to make it out here so God gave us Aimee to make us feel so loved. She is a wonderful woman of God and we are growing more fond of her everyday. She has been such a huge part of keeping you all up to date and our prayer requests. She has recently gone through the loss of her sweet daughter Charlotte Jean on January 8th. Please keep her in your prayers and especially lift her and her husband up as she is walking this road with us now. She has a strong heart, but many times I am concerned that this might hit too close to home too soon. I pray for her to be abundantly blessed with happiness and children! Here is Aimee’s blog 🙂

Thank you Tara Curts for encouraging our family with this song and video

    Lisa- my first thought this morning – “Thank you Lord, it’s Jaxton’s week birthday!” I am so amazed at how far he’s come and the many little (and BIG!) miracles God has blessed your family with. He is such a precious little blessing! I continue to pray for Jaxton and your family daily. And the praises go on and on!! I can’t wait until he starts physical therapy, I’m going to love hearing those adventures (I’m a PT)

    Josh, Lisa, Jake and Jaxton. We are so excited for Jaxton’s 1 week birthday. I check several times a day for an update to see more ways of God working miracles in your lives and the lives of people around the world through your baby boy. I am so glad that he is doing well and will pray for the tests tomorrow and that you can take him HOME soon. Your family is in Ben and my thoughts often. We love you guys.

  13. Looking forward to a perfect report tomorrow! You are such a beautiful family. I pray over my daughter every evening that her life would bring glory to the name of Jesus. In Jaxton’s 1st week of life he has done that in a way never imagined. My prayer is that through his life, many more weeks and years, that our Heavenly Father would receive glory in a way he never has before.
    Many prayers for your little miracle!

    “When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” -John 11:4 <– This is my prayer for Jaxton! Praying that God will rid his body of any sickness and that God be even more glorified through this beautiful baby! I am also praying that every single person in the hospital knows that God has ultimate authority and that they all fall on their knees because of what God does! Thankfully, we serve a God who is not limited by human power and doctor's diagnosis'! We have never actually met but I attend PFB and I look forward to meeting you and you family, whether it is here or in heaven =)
