hello friends. i am sorry that the last post was so long ago! i am also sorry for all the typos and errors…i hope you can still follow along. at different points throughout the last day i have been a little preoccupied and spelling errors were not on my radar! ๐Ÿ™‚ things are still going here. at this moment josh is with jaxton and lisa is taking a much needed rest. this couple has had a very hard night, but they are both holding up with such grace and peace that i know only God can give. little has changed with jaxton. he has his times when things look very good and we get excited. there are also moments when we are reminded that his little body is fragile and we dont really know how this is going to go. jaxton is in no pain and is still sedated, much to josh and lisa’s dismay. lisa would love to see him squirming around and opening his eyes…please pray that happens while she is there to see it! jaxton loves to be held by his mommy and daddy. last night they took turns and tried to rest on their “off shift”. rest is hard to come by becuase they do not want to ย miss a single thing. at one point lisa and i were talking, she was facing me and when she turned back she said “oh, i just miss him so much when i am not looking at him!” she desperately wants to soak up every minute and study his every little feature. she is healing very well from the surgery…she has been walking, eating, and drinking like a champ. josh has been an amazing support both for lisa and for jaxton. he jumps to attention with every little noise and he is on top of knowing what is going with jaxton…there is alot of information flying around and they have both been great about digesting that information and making decisions. please continue to pray in that way. please pray that God would make it very clear as to what they should do regarding care, medications, treatments, etc. i have been so blessed to see lisa be real with me over the course of the last day. she is trusting God but still crying out for Him to heal jaxton. the realization that that may not happen is very sobering. i have to keep telling myself that God is so much bigger than this, that i need to be praising Him for the fact that He can do this!

thank you for your continued prayers for josh, lisa and jaxton!! thank you for your continued patience with me as i try to post for them…sorry they are not as visually appealing as lisa’s…i promise she will be back soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ love, aimee

thank you Aimee! I have had 2 children in NICU, and it’s always “2 steps forward, 1 step back” mentality. The nurses tell me it’s very much like a roller coaster ride. We will definitely continue to pray, any word on results of the bloodwork, if they’ve confirmed it’s definitely Trisomy 13? Please let us know…and THANK YOU! XOXOXOXO

  4. Aimee, no apology needed! You are doing wonderful! Thank you so much for taking on this huge task of keeping us all updated! Dear Aimee, we appreciate every word you write — typos or not. I jumped up early this morning to read your latest news, more concerned about what you have to say, not how you say it! I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we are surviving on each post. We love the Husmanns dearly. Since this all began last night, there have been literally at least thirty thousand hits on this blog, all of us so grateful that you are serving our dear friends so faithfully. Thank you. Please let them know that we are praying for ALL of Team Jaxton!

Oh Praise God! Thank God for parents like Josh and Lisa who have been an amazing testimony of God’s love for us! I can just picture God saying to us when we turn around from him for a moment…”Child welcome back. I missed you so much and I just talked to you yesterday!” We need God’s love every moment just like Jaxton needs his family.
Aimee, you are doing wonderful! Thanks for being God’s messenger through this all! Let us know if there is anything specific we can pray for!

  10. Aimee you are doing amazing in keeping us updated. Have you noticed the ticker? Jaxton’s story has been read over 82,000 times! It has doubled since yesterday.

You should have seen FB as well. Flooded with Lisa’s blog being shared so that EVERYONE would be praying for this sweet family. God is doing something HUGE here. I can’t explain it. I am glad I can’t. Because that means God gets the glory.

Heavenly Father we know that Jaxton will be healed. While we also know that it may not be in the way we desire and plead for, we trust in Your goodness and will. We hope and ask for healing on this earth Father. It is hard to say it sometimes because we all fear the worse. Provide peace, comfort, mercy, healing, clarity for all involved in Jaxton’s life. Allow him fight in his precious and little body so that Lisa and Josh can have their moments with him. I am continually in awe of you. Amen.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

Thank you so much Aimee, for your continued service to the Husmann family and to all of us, her friends who are continuing to stay by their sides in prayer. I find myself tearing up with each post as I read you words. We still continue to ask our Almighty Father to heal this little boy. He is bigger than us all and his understanding far exceeds ours. I pray for peace and comfort for Lisa and Josh each moment. Thank you again for keeping us updated with Jaxton’s progress, it is so appreciated.

Aimee, even though I don’t have the privilege to know you personally, I have known a wonderful friend and sister in Christ in the past few hours. You have been faithful, relentless and loving not only to the Hussmans but to all of us that are in prayer vigil. Your updates are candid and true, full of the love of Christ. We can feel the Holy Spirit leading you; who cares about spelling? God is showing all of us His marvelous work through a situation that according to our wordly standards is less than perfect. But to those who love the Lord, to those who have faith, all of this is just perfection from the heart.
We continue to pray for Jaxton, Lisa, Josh and jake. Our hearts are not in Southern California but in Indiana right now. May the Lord continue to give you all strenght, peace and comfort. Love in Christ.

    Dearest Husmann Family:

My daughter went to school with Josh in Union City when I pastored a church there. I currently reside in Pa. and have been leading my flock through a study on Romans. We just finished with Chapter 8 inculding verse 28. We all know it & claim it but it is especially precious during times like these. Paul did not say that everything that happens to us is good. He did not say we have to like it or even understand it. What he simply said was the Christian needs to believe God. He knew an immense amount of heart ache, sorrow and persecution and yet he could say “all things work for good”. You are in a no loose situation. If God’s greater glory involves healing Jaxton, and we pray for that, then what a great blessing it is for him and you.. If it for His greater glory to call him home unto Himself, what an unspeakable blessing that is for him and you. If the latter occurs, you as Christians can say as David “he will not return unto me but I will go unto him” and the time apart will be as a single grain of sand on the sea shore compared to eternity. I deeply thank you for the demonstration of a faith that can only come from an awesome God who knows your heart, sees your tears and walks hand in hand with you on this journey. May the peace that passes all understanding stay your hearts on Christ, the one who so deeply loved us and gave Himself for us.

    Praying for all of you,
    Pastor Ed Saul

This is my first time reading lisa’s blog. Just by reading it I can feel God’s presence in this family! There is no doubt that there lives will draw more people to the Lord’s word. Unfailing faith is what I see in Lisa, what a great virtue!! She is definitely a woman that is beautiful in God’s eyes! As I was reading all of these posts, a verse kept on popping into my head. Now I feel compelled to share it with them,

“humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on to him because he cares for you.”
    1 peter 5:6-7

Peter is telling us to “cast” all of our anxieties to the Lord our God. To me the word “cast” means to throw. As you know God can handle anything and everything, so please tell them to throw their anxieties to the Lord, because he cares for them.
God bless and I will keep Jaxton and his family in my prayers.
